Funeral services were held Thursday, October 15 at 11 a.m. for Marlys V. Link, age 89, who died Monday, October 12, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa where she had lived the last two years. The Rev. Lynn Groe officiated at the services held at Martin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were Link, Erik, and Gordon Larson, Kenneth Brandt, Arnold Dahlen, and Dan Regan.

Marlys was born April 15, 1898 in Winneshiek County to Andrew and Dorothea (Rosvold) Dahlen. She attended rural Winneshiek County schools and received seamstress training in Decorah, Iowa. She married Ambrose Link *marriage date was not listed*. Ambrose died in June of 1982. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and playing bridge at which she and her husband won tournaments as partners. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and the ALCW church group, the Waukon Golf and Country Club and bridge clubs.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alexander Dahlen and Orlando Dahlen, and 3 sisters, Esther, Estella, and Julia.

Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Gordon (Anne) Larson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Sue Roberts of St. Paul, Minnesota, Link Larson of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Erik Larson of Chicago, Illinois; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
