Kermit E. Iverson, age 57, of Decorah, Iowa, died of pneumonia Tuesday, December 16, 1986 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Services have been set for Friday, December 19 at 1 p.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church with the Revs. Alden Hovda and John Halvorson officiating. Casket bearers will be John, William, Joseph, Gary, Robert, Steven, Craig, and James Iverson. burial will be in the Iowa-River Lutheran Cemetery with Sensor-French Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa in charge of arrangements.

Kermit was born May 2, 1929 in Allamakee County, Iowa to John and Otilda (Nelson) Iverson. He attended rural schools and Decorah High School. He was a retired Navy Petty Officer after serving 24 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church.

Preceding him in death was his father John Iverson.

Surviving him are his mother Otilda who resides in the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa; 2 brothers Milton Iverson of Decorah, Iowa and Curtis Iverson of Decorah, Iowa.
