Funeral services were held Monday, November 9 for William R. McGahan, age 83, resident of Northgate Manor, Waukon, Iowa, who died Friday, November 6, 1987 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa. Father Ed Lechtenberg officiated at the 11 a.m. services held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial was in Lycurgus Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ralph Plein, Dennis Ronan, Lyle Mahoney, Dan Welsh, Jim Campbell, and James Ward.

William was born September 1, 1904 to John and Grace (Plein) McGahan. He farmed in French Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. He was a member of St. Patrick's church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John McGahan, and a sister Catherine.

Surviving are a sister, Sister Mary Theresa Frances McGahan of Dubuque, Iowa and a brother, Leonard J. McGahan of Northgate Manor.
