Mariam Isabell Weymiller, age 79, of New Albin, Iowa, died Saturday, February 7, 1987 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa. Services have been set for Thursday, February 12 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in New Albin, Iowa with the Rev. Tom Mattson officiating. Burial will be in the New Albin City Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mariam was born January 3, 1908 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Alford and Verona (Hayes) Tabatt. She graduated from New Albin High School and attended Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa for two years. She married Frank C. Weymiller in 1931. She was a lifetime New Albin area resident, and homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Church Women, Royal Neighbors of America, a volunteer for the Allamakee County Care Facility and Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1909, her mother, her step-father, August Housman, two brothers, Louis Tabatt and Alfred Tabatt, and a half-sister, Helen (Housman) Hosch.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, 2 sons, Louis Weymiller of New Albin, Iowa and Franklin "Doc" Weymiller of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; 2 daughters, Mrs. LaVerne (Mary Lou) Welper of New Albin and Mrs. Leon (Ruth Ann) Myhre of Caledonia, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Note: Mariam is the name that appeared in the obituary. Earlier in my transcribing today, when I was cross-referencing for other obituaries, I ran across an obituary that had a notation added to an obituary concerning a woman with the name of Mariam or a Marian. A relative had commented that the name had been mispelled for that person's obituary and that in a later issue, the newspaper had corrected the spelling of her name.

NOTE TO RESEARCHERS THAT MAYBE THIS WAS THE "MARIAM". So be sure to check the allied surnames that are listed. I tried going back to find that particular obituary, but could not find it.
