Waterville, Iowa resident Elaine V. Leiran, age 62, died Thursday, December 19, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 21 at Waterville Lutheran Church with Rev. Lynn Groe and Rev. Mark DeGarmeaux conducting the 10:30 a.m. services. Burial was in the East Paint Creek Synod Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Rudy Hesla, Vic Halvorson, Bill Steffenson, Steve Welper, Jim Rathbun, and Norman Monserud.

Mrs. Leiran was a teacher and taught for 25 years at the Waterville School. She was born in West Union, Iowa on October 12, 1923, the daughter of Abel and Stella (Stolle) Mork. She attended the West Union High School and attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa for two years. She and Norman Leiran were married in West Union, Iowa on June 8, 1947. She was a member of Waterville Lutheran Church. She was active in several church groups.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; 1 daughter, Mrs. Kurt (Diane) Rathbun of North Pole, Alaska; 2 sons, Allen Leiran and Gene Leiran, both of Waterville, Iowa; her mother Mrs. Stella Mork of West Union, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Noel, Chad, Brandon, and Brie; a brother Arlo Mork, and a sister, Mrs. Tom (Loraine) Weston, both of West Union, Iowa.
