Funeral services for Mabel Wittlinger, age 89, of St. Petersburg, Florida were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa on Saturday, September 7 at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wittlinger died Wednesday, September 4, 1985 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born March 31, 1896 in Waukon, Iowa to Herman and Minnie (Johnson) Thies. She attended Waukon High School. She married George Wittlinger in August of 1917. Mrs. Wittlinger lived in Waukon, Chicago, and Florida areas. She was a retired employee of the Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Chicago and Northwestern Bell in Waukon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband George; a daughter Loretta May *unclear if May is Loretta's middle name or if her last name was May.*, and a son George Wittlinger, Jr.

She is survived by cousins Richard Johnson of Mundelein, Illinois and Elmer Johnson of Waukon, Iowa.
