Laura K. Russell, a resident of Northgate Manor, died Wednesday February 10, 1988 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. She was 88 years old. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. William Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Tillmon Solem, Jr., Mark Solem, Arthur Klemme, Kenneth Klemme, Clarence Klemme, and Richard Elliott.

Laura was born December 14, 1899 in Waukon, Iowa to Henry and Lena (Snitker) Klemme. She was a graduate of Waukon High School and married Ralph Russell. He died many years ago. She was a homemaker and had lived in Dubuque, Iowa where she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She returned to Waukon several years ago. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, and playing bridge.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Arthur Klemme.

Surviving are 2 nieces, Rosemary Solem of Stewartville, Minnesota and Laura Wickham of Bettendorf, Iowa and 3 nephews, Arthur, Clarence, and Kenneth Klemme, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
