Albert H. Houser

A family service was held in the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m. and a public service at the Parker Funeral Home, Jesup at 2 p.m. for Albert H. Houser who died Thursday, May 21 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated.

Albert H. Houser was born on October 6, 1886 at Champaign, Illinois. His parents were Henry and Elizabeth Houser. He had two brothers: Monroe and Will, and two sisters: Luella and Mabel. They have all preceded him in death.

The family moved to Iowa when he was two years old, and he lived on the same farm about three miles from Jesup for the next seventy-two years. He received his schooling in a country school close to the farm.

He married Hannah Nelson on March 9, 1911, and they have one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Bennett of Clermont. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

They moved to Postville in 1960 and Mr. Houser has been a patient in the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, and the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, since September 4, 1963. Interment was in the Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, Iowa.
