Earl Jonathan Handy

Funeral services were held at the Holton and Son Chapel in Long Beach, California on Saturday for Earl J. Handy, who passed away December 10 at his home in Long Beach. The Rev. Robert H. Prentice officiated with interment in Sunnyside Memorial Park, Long Beach.

Earl Jonathan Handy was born September 22, 1887 at Bloomington, Wisconsin, the son of Frank Handy and Agnes Thornton Handy. He died December 10, 1959 at Long Beach, California.

He was married to Edith Jewell on October 19, 1912. They made their home in Postville since 1920. Mr. Handy worked for Oscar Mayer Company for 23 years, serving as Livestock Supervisor for Northeast Iowa. He retired several years ago.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Opal (Mrs. Roger Hubbell); four grandchildren, Roger, Jr., Sandra, Earl Jonathan and Margaret Hubbell; a brother, Herman of Fayette; a sister, Mrs. M. E. Irish of Fort Dodge.
