Florence Hancock

Funeral services for Florence L. Hancock, 80, of Waukon, IA were held Sunday, March 17, 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Rev. James Jacobson officiated. Interment was in the Rossville Cemetery.

Florence L. Hancock, daughter of Jacob Deal and Emma (Huff) Leas Deal, was born January 19, 1911 at Rossville, IA. She died March 14, 1991 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

She received her education at rural and Rossville elementary schools and attended Monona High School. She was a lifelong northeast Iowa resident and had lived in Waukon since 1960.

She married Ralph N. Hancock on June 5, 1935 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA.

Preceding her in death were her husband Ralph, who died June 5, 1935*; her parents, half-brothers, Everett, Floyd, Vinton, Fred and Harl Leas.

Survivors are son James Hancock, Columbus, OH; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Lester Fish, Lloyd Bechtel, George Wood, Rudey Hesla, Willard Leiran and Robert Granna.
