Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)James E. Zoll, age 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Friday, June 3, 1988 at St.Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6 at St.Matthew's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Rev. Gerald A. Condon conducted the services and burial was in the Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military rites by the Marion American Legion Post #298.
He was born February 5, 1928 in Waukon to Joseph and Hazel (Kelleher) Zoll. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and worked as a construction laborer for many years. On January 13, 1982 he married Barbara Zeliph. He was a member of the Marion American Legion Post #298 and the Eagles Club of Vinton, Iowa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Dodds of Dubuque, Iowa; 3 sons, Joseph and Mike Zoll, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Edwin Zoll of Glen St.Mary, Florida; 6 step-children, Deb Wood of Peekskill, New York, John Pickup of Buffalo, New York, Nancy
Antonini of Hiawatha, Iowa, Pam Shramek and Tim and Tom Pickup, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Vivian Zoll and 2 sisters, Mary Mauss and Myrtle Larson, all of Waukon, Iowa.
