Funeral services have been set for Thursday, December 15 at 1:30 p.m. for Cora M. Ashbacher, age 79, who died Friday, December 9, 1988 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Rev. Larry Olson will conduct the services at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be James Bieber, Rick Stevens, Wayne Gelo, Dr. David Hahn, Larry Schellhammer, and William Mathis.

Cora was born April 19, 1909 in Allamakee County to Herman and Mabel (Ebner) Gelo and attended local schools. On June 23, 1931 she married Glen Carlson. He died January 17, 1971. She married Harold Ashbacher on June 25, 1974 in Waukon, Iowa. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and church circles, Senior Citizens Club and did volunteer work at the Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; a daughter, Ruby (Mrs. Al Haugsted) of Lincoln, Nebraska; 5 step-children, John A. Ashbacher of Waukon, Iowa, Richard Ashbacher of Davenport, Iowa, Ronald Ashbacher of Topeka, Kansas, Arlene (Mrs. Dick Ritchey) of Fountain City, Colorado, and Dorothy (Mrs. Lincoln Smith) of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren; 3
great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Gelo of Lansing, Iowa and 2 sisters, Mrs. Leona Marti of Waukon, Iowa and Mrs. Bernice Bieber of Lansing, Iowa.
