Loretta M. Donovan, age 79, of New Albin, Iowa, died Saturday, August 13, 1988 in the Thornton Manor Nursing Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18 in St.Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin,Iowa. The Rev. Henry Charipar officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Michael Donovan, David Steele, Cleon Sires, Leo Whalen, Tom Zeimet, and Louis Weymiller.

Loretta was born August 3, 1909 in New Albin, Iowa to Patrick and Margaret (Mack) Burke. She worked at Continental Bank, Chicago, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are a son, Gerald Donovan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Burke of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. * The obituary does not mention her husband.*
