Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Cora M. Jostand, former Waukon, Iowa resident, died Tuesday, April 5, 1988 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Thomas Topf officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville in charge of arrangements.
Cora was born June 10, 1917 in Allamakee County, Iowa to George and Romina (Beighle) Gramlich and attended Lycurgus School. On November 21, 1941 she married Jerome Jostand, Sr. in Winterset, Iowa. They lived in Waukon before moving to Estherville in 1943. He died April 14, 1962. She was a member of St.Patrick's Church, Estherville, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Angela and Danette Jostand, and seven brothers.
Surviving are 5 daughters: Shirley (Mrs. Virgil Winke) of Janesville, Wisconsin, Betty, (Mrs. Bob Langfitt) of Estherville, Iowa, Bernadine (Mrs. Harold Frederick) of Milford, Iowa, Cathy (Mrs. Don Grafton) of Algona, Iowa, and Becky (Mrs. Terry Helmers) of Dunnell, Minnesota; 4 sons, Casper Jostand of Waukon, Iowa, Jerome Jostand, Jr. of Lansing, Iowa, Richard Jostand of Milford, Iowa, and Robert Jostand of Estherville, Iowa; a step-son, Stanley Jostand of Taylorridge, Illinois; 44 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Alice Murphy of Janesville, Wisconsin, Mrs. Selma Larsen of Waukon, Iowa, and Mrs. Elsie Super of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 2 brothers, Irvin Gramlich of Fargo, North Dakota and Daniel Gramlich of Waukon, Iowa.
