Arthur Eide, age 95, of Dorchester, Iowa died Sunday, April 3, 1988 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at Big Canoe Lutheran Church near Decorah, Iowa. The Rev. Steve W. Jensen officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Roble funeral home of Spring Grove, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ron Gavle, Milton Iverson, Donald Hanson, Lyle Stegen, Ernest Opheim, and Arnold Thorson.

Arthur was born March 13, 1893 in Allamakee County to Claus and Thea (Stensgaard) Eide. He attended rural school in Allamakee County. He farmed and worked as a trucker in Allamakee County, farmed in North Dakota, worked on the Alcan highway, and worked for the Allamakee County Highway Department. He was a member of the Big Canoe Church.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Surviving are cousins.
