Harmon Eugene Hamm was born March 29, 1915 in Allamakee County to parents Jerry and Kate Kennedy Russell Hamm. He died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1992 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
On August 22, 1935, Harmon married Pearl Evelyn Jones. They had three sons. Harmon farmed near Waterville until 1955; Pearl died Dec. 8, 1954.
In January of 1957 Harmon married Dorothy Davis. He then worked as a security guard for Chamberlain Manufacturing. Dorothy died June 8, 1972.
On April 2, 1977 Harmon married Lorraine Wilma Schlitter in Monona. She died August 5, 1985. On January 21, 1989 Harmon married Gertrude Lawson Moose. The couple made their home in Waukon. She survives.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first three wives; his son, Stephan Craig, who died in 1954; three brothers -- Lawrence, Lester and an infant; and one sister, Vera Nichols.
Surviving are his wife Gertrude of Waukon; two sons -- Kenneth of Rose Hill and Kieth of Dubuque, and their wives; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Guy of Sherrill and Barton of Waterville; two sisters, Helen Jones of Waterville and Bernice Erickson of Rochester, Minn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb 25, 1992 at the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial was in Sixteen Cemeter in rural Monona. The pallberers were Harmon's grandsons - Lonnie, Steven, Randall, Michael, Russell, Wade and Warren Hamm. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of the services.
