Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Eva Louise Dundee, 78, Postville, Iowa, died Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville. Eva was born May 20, 1932, in Jefferson Township in Allamakee County, to Cloy and Ethel (Rush) Walters.
Eva went to grade school in Rossville and then to Waukon High School for two years. Eva was united in marriage to Curtis Dundee July 29, 1950 at the Rossville Presbyterian Church. Four children were born to this union. Curtis and Eva moved to Postville in 1951 and has been a resident ever since. Eva was a stay at home mother until 1976 when she was employed at Iowa Turkey Products for over 20 years.
In her spare time Eva was an avid scrap booker and enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She and Curtis enjoyed many years camping with family and friends. Eva also enjoyed going to the boat with her sister-in-law Dorothy Jones. She loved listening to country music.
Survivors include her four children, Gary (Madonna) Dundee, Monte (Dode)Dundee, Cindy (Todd) Rounds, Audrey (Bryan) Meyer; ten grandchildren, Nicole, Lori, Jennifer, Stacy, John, Jessica, Sarah, Bradley, Toni, Kimberly, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, on February 10, 1997; grandson, Jason Dundee; parents, Cloy and Ethel Walters; brothers, Leon and Ken, and a sister, Margie.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, November 23, 2010 at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, the Rev. Gary Catterson officiated. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Iowa. Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Postville Good Samaritan Center, Makee Manor in Waukon, and the Alzheimer's Association.
