Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, Thomas Hartley, 53, died suddenly at his home in rural New Albin, IA.
Thomas was born March 26, 1946, Waukon, IA, the son of Charles E. and Marion (Ryan) Hartley. Baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, he attended Clear Creek elementary school and graduated from Waukon High School in 1964. After marriage to Nancy Wingert in Preston, MN, June 29, 1968, Thomas farmed dairy and beef in rural New Albin until his death.
Survivors include wife Nancy, New Albin, mother Marion Hartley, New Albin, daughters, Kim (Chad) Waters, Waukon and Brenda Hartley, New Albin, sons Mike and Mark Hartley, New Albin, granddaughter Victoria Waters, brothers Joseph (Joan) Hartley, Eastman, WI and James Hartley, New Albin and sister Mary Ellen (Lyle) Mohwinkle, Waukon. Thomas was preceded in death by father Charles Hartley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 25, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial followed in church cemetery. Casketbearers were Dean and Ron Hartley, Steve Mohwinkle, Bryan Marquardt, Scot, Jim, Brad, David, Matt and Steve Wingert. Fr.
