Vincent N. Mooney, age 76, of rural Lansing, passed away Sept. 22, 1999, at his home.
Vincent was born Aug. 14, 1923, to Eugene and Celia (Kernan) Mooney. He graduated from the Waterville High School. He farmed on the home farm in Lafayette township for most of his life. On Sept. 22, 1956, he married Rosemary O'Brien in St. Patrick's Church in Waukon.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, their four children, Tim Mooney of Denver, Colo., Terry (Julie) Mooney of Waukon, Pat (Chris) Mooney of Cedar Rapids and Maureen (Dave) Hock of San Diego, Calif.; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, three brothers, Ray (Mary) Mooney, Cyril (Leona) Mooney, and Jim (Elaine) Mooney; and one sister, Mary Rita O'Regan.
Services were held Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford, with Fr. Louis Tzril officiating. Interment was in Wexford Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Dan Mooney, Matt Mooney, David Mooney, Bob Mooney, Larry O'Brien, Kenneth O'Brien and Mike Mooney.
Honorary gasket bearers were his grandchildren.
Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
