Emil L. Fritz, 92, died on Tuesday, April 9, at Thornton Manor.
He was born in Lansing May 16, 1892, the son of William and Mary (Stauffacher) Fritz. He attended local schools and married Amanda Johnson on May 24, 1917 in Creston. She preceded him in death in 1980.
He was a retired farmer. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Helen) Beardmore of Lansing; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two half brothers, Willard and Harold Fritz, both of Waukon.
Funeral services were held at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated at the services, held Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. Burial was in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery. Martin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were William Regan, Harold Kerndt, Harvey Rissman, Ernie Fruechte, Delbert Timmerman and Curtis Clark.
