Solveig R. Wilkinson, 61, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away Saturday February 23, 2008, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. She was born on January 10, 1947, in Postville, Iowa to Hilbert (Hib) and Ruth (Peterson) Larson. Solveig was united in marriage to Richard Wilkinson on April 29, 1986 in Oelwein, Iowa.

Solveig graduated from Postville High School in 1965 and then went on to graduate from Luther College with a Degree in Education in 1979. She later attended Gettysburg Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA. Solveig worked over thirty years for Lutheran Churches. She also worked as a teachers aid and a newspaper editor. Solveig enjoyed spending her spare time working with the youth, with the church, and loved to read.

Solveig is survived by her husband, Richard Wilkinson of Spirit Lake; a daughter, Darrelle Wilkinson of Iowa City; a brother Luther H. Larson of Westland, Michigan; an aunt, Iva Martindale, and her husband, Don, of Oelwein; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji, Iowas
