Lifetime Allamakee County resident Kathryn L. Schulte, 81, died Sunday April 30, 1995 at Veteran's Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 9, 1913 in Allamakee County to Thomas and Anna (Griffin) Tierney.
She graduated from Waukon High School and May 1, 1935 married Clarence M. Schulte at St. Mary's Church, Hanover. Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include eight children, Lorna Felten of Caledonia, MN, Mark Schulte of Mabel, MN, Ed and Earl Schulte of Waukon, Mile Schulte of Dorchester, Connie Nagel, Lou Ann Wikan and Helen Baumgartner, all of Waukon; 19 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and a sister Marie Magner of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, Thomas and Charles Tierney.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4 at St. Patrick's with the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dorchester, with Hanson Funeral in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Todd, Travis and Kent Schulte, Craig Nagel, Chad, Cory and Colin Wikan, Brad Felten, and Sean, Brandon and Brian Schulte.
Honorary bearers were Sue and Kathy Felten, Tina Cooper, Dana and Kelly Nagel, Tonya Schulte, Sheryl Baumgartner and Jenni Schulte.
