Michael Phillippi
At his home, near this city on Monday, January 25, 1886, occurred the death of Michael Phillippi. Last fall he suffered from a paralytic stroke from which he never rallied, and has been a constant sufferer since. He had the best of medical aid, but it was of no avail and death was a relief to him. He came to this county about the year 1855-56, and settled in Lansing. His first residence was in a building that stood where Hancock's jewelry store is now located. Of late years he has occupied the farm on which he lived at the time of his death. He was aged sixty-nine years, and leaves a wife and six children, three daughters and three sons. His circle of acquaintances was large, and to all he was known as an open hearted, generous man. His funeral took place from the Catholic church in this city on Wednesday last.
