Norma Adamani, 86, a native of New Albin, IA passed away in Philadelphia, PA after a lengthy illness. Services were held at St. Joseph's Church with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery March 28.
She was born in a downtown New Albin apartment to John Kelly and Margaret Cavin Kenney. She graduated from New Albin High School. She won a Miss New Albin Beauty contest.
Norma married Lester Adamani, and a son, Daniel was born to the couple. They later divorced.
She had lived in Atlantic City, Detroit, Philadelphia and New Albin. Her interests were drawing and defending rights of the developmentally disabled. She grew up and owned the family-built house in New Albin for 80 years.
Norma is survived by one son, Daniel Patrick, and many nieces and nephews, and cousins, including Rita Kelly Schulte and Sylvester Theobald of New Albin, the Marie Garritys family of Austin, MN and John Montague family of Milwaukee, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Marge; one brother, William Kelly; one sister, Verda Cronk; one favorite niece, Margaret Mary Ingles Healy.
