Hillard Harold Aldrich

Hillard Harold Aldrich, 95, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Family and friends celebrated Harold’s life Friday, July 2 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids with Pastor Rev. Jay Jentink. A graveside service was held at Center Baptist Church near Lansing.
Harold was born near Lansing February 6, 1915, the son of Willard and Constance Aldrich. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1953. His creativity, people skills, and integrity were employed in his various professions including farming, driving streetcars, and working for the Cedar Rapids Parks Department. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved telling stories, helping others, serving God and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Amy MacDougall; a brother, Sidney; six children, Judy (Ken) Buch, Wendell (Mary), Stanley (Doris), Wayne, Betty (Gary) Karkosh, and Donna (Mark) Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
