Mrs. Eula Pearson

Funeral services for Mrs. Eula Pearson were held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, on Wednesday, December 15, 1971, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Dick Harberts officiating. Interment was in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.

Eula Lee, daughter of Frank and Ella Collins Jones, was born on November 23, 1892, at Quimby, Iowa, where she spent her childhood days. As a young girl she moved with her parents near Luana, in the Hardin vicinity. She received her education in the rural school in that area.

Eula was united in marriage to Chester (Chet) A. Pearson on June 25, 1911, in Luana. They farmed near Hardin and Postville. To this union three children were born: Hilda, Frances, and Mary.

Mrs. Chester Pearson became a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, in January 7, 1923.

Mrs. Pearson had a stroke 27 years ago that left her an invalid. She spent many years in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Don White. When the Good Samaritan Center opened 2½ years ago, she moved there. She suffered another stroke Friday, December 3, and was taken to the Community Memorial Hospital, where she died Monday morning, December 13.

Eula was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Jones; her husband, Chester A. Pearson on July 7, 1942; two brothers: Colby Jones and Porter Jones; also two sisters: Mrs. Newton (Lillian) Palmer and Mrs. Elsie Knight.

She is survived by her three daughters: Mrs. Hilda Bruns, Postville; Mrs. Frances Foster, Burlington; and Mrs. Mary White, Postville. Also, one sister, Mrs. J. L. (Melva) Laurent, Holiday, Florida. There are eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and other relatives.
