Former Resident Dies In Montana

Mrs. Bertha C. Gibson, 86, died Thursday in Billings, Montana after a long illness.

She was born May 2, 1887, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schutte.

She was married to James A. Gibson March 17, 1910, in Decorah, Iowa. They moved to Melstone in 1920, to homestead. In 1926, they moved to Harlowton, Montana. She left Harlowton in 1969, after her husband's death.

Survivors include three sons, William J. of Tacoma, Wash., James A. Jr. of Sekiu, Wash., and Lawrence I. of Colorado Springs.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Perkins Funeral Home in Harlowton, the Rev. Richard Halvorson of the American Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Harlowton Cemetery.
