Mrs. Earl Gilster Services Held
Services for Grace Ann Gilster, who died September 14 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., were conducted at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tuesday, September 18. The Rev. David Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia.
Grace was born January 18, 1907, Postville, the daughter of George and Sophia (Schultz) Welzel. She was baptized and a confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Married October 14, 1931 to Earl Gilster at St. Paul Lutheran Church, they became parents of three children. The couple lived on a farm until 1959 when they retired and moved to Waukon.
Her parents and a sister, Orelian, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donald of Castalia and Louis of Hereford, Texas; a daughter, Anita Gilster; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers: Roy Welzel of West Union, Paul Welzel of Postville and Harlan Welzel of Eldorado and two sisters: Mrs. Rudy (Ruth) Hinzman of Silver Springs, Maryland and Mrs. Harold (Betty) Paulson of Mesa, Arizona.
