Jacksonville, Fla., Aug 25 - Sergeant Albert Stewart of Co I, 49th Iowa regiment, from Waukon, died today of typho-malaria fever. He is a son of Capt. A.G. Stewart of the company.

The remains of Albert M. Stewart, Sergt. Co. I, 49th Iowa, were brought home to Waukon Monday, August 29. He died at Jacksonville, Fla., of typhoid fever at the age of 19 years. Bert, as he was familiarly called was the only son of Capt. A.G. Stewart, of Waukon. The funeral was held Tuesday. It was a sad home coming for a brave soldier boy and a terrible blow to a fond father and a loving sister.

There is deep sorrow in Waukon over the death of Bert. Stewart, son of {?}. Stewart, a member of Co. I in the 49th Iowa. He died of typhoid fever.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Nov. 1, 1879 and died Aug. 25, 1898. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
