Memorial services were held Friday, June 30, 2000 at the Living Mission United Methodist Church for Roger Stewart Frantz, who died on June 18, 2000 at his home in Lula, Georgia.

He was born September 25, 1935 in Martelle, Iowa. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1963. He worked for the US Forest Service in Arizona and Georgia for 31 years.

He is survived locally by his wife, Dixie Frantz, daughter Laura (Bill) Putnam, granddaughters Jeannie and Claire Putnam, and cousins William and Linda Gossett. He is also survived by his parents, Bruce and June Frantz of Springville, Iowa; 2 sisters, Peg (Neal) Armstrong of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Barbara (James) O'Connor of Helena, Montana; 2 brothers, David (Shari) Frantz of Ely, Iowa and Edward (Nancy) Frantz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; father-in-law Everett Cook and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Noel and Rochelle Cook of Postville, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
