Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Friederich were held Friday, February 4, 2000 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Robert Hupp officiated. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Apostolic Cemetery at Elgin, Iowa.
Jean Louise (Schultz) Friederich, the daughter of Elmer Louis Schultz and Esther Hildegard (Allen) Schultz, was born August 31, 1933 in Postville, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday morning, February 2, 2000 in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union, Iowa. She had reached the age of 66 years, five months and one day.
She was baptized November 26, 1933 by the Rev. R. B. Garten and confirmed March 30, 1947 by the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, both in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. Jean was graduated from Postville High School in 1951.
On August 9, 1953 Jean was married to Robert Friederich at Postville, Iowa. From this union, God blessed them with five sons. She enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, and mother, along with traveling, baking, crossword puzzles, her pets, and visiting with special friends. She had a kind, loving touch and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor.
Our family gives thanks to God for His blessed gift to us through Jean's life. Her sons give special thanks for a mother who was always there for them with her sacrificial love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald, and a niece, Sandy.
Surviving are her husband, Robert, of Postville, their sons, and families: Allen and LuAnn Friederich of Luana, Iowa; Chuck and Glenda Friederich of Waco, Texas; Kevin Friederich of Portage, Wisconsin; Brian and Lova Friederich of Des Moines, Iowa; and Randy and Joyce Friederich of Mason City, Iowa. Also three grandchildren, Heather and Derek Friederich of Luana, and Josh Friederich of Portage, Wisconsin, one sister, Betty Loftsgard of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Pallbearers were Bob Plaht, Tennis Foels, Gregg Kleppe, Michael Friederich, David Kamaus, and Dennis Friederich.
