Services were held Saturday, May 22, 1971, from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville at 2:00 p.m. for Amanda C. Kohrs, who died in the Postville Hospital May 20. The Rev. Walter Otto officiated.

Emma Charlotte Amanda Schroeder was born December 17, 1888 in Allamakee County. She was the daughter of Wilhelm Schroeder and his wife Wilhelmine Loeffler. She was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church July 21, 1889 and confirmed in the same church on March 23, 1902.

On February 21, 1911 she was united in marriage to John Kohrs. To this union were born three children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, one sister Ella (Mrs. Thomas Monroe) and three brothers, William, Louis and Edward Schroeder.

She is survived by one sister, Jennie (Mrs. Fred Schara) of Postville; three sons, Delbert of Independence, Silas of Waterloo, and Donald of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
