Lars Larson Hjornevig

Lars Larson Hjornevig was born in Evanger Sogn, parish, Norway, Aug. 9, 1827, and was 81 years of age at the time of his death. He sailed from Norway in 1860, and located in Winneshiek county, where he was united in wedlock with Miss Guri Seim the same year of his coming to this county. Fifteen children were born to them, eleven of whom are now living, six sons, and five daughters. They are Mrs. John Monserud of Sumner, SD.; Mrs. Hulger of Crookston, Minn.; Mrs. Oscar Aselson, Lansing, Minn.; Edward and Christine in Dubuque, Iowa; Charles in Chance, SD., Henry in Sanborn, ND.; and Louis, Paul and Mrs. Martin Monserud who reside here. His remains were laid at rest in the cemetery of the Old East Paint Creek United Lutheran Church on Tuesday, the 19th, Rev. C.J.G. Gronlid conducting the obsequies.
