CYRUS ANDREW HARRIS

Cyrus Andrew Harris, son of Charles and Alida (Harrington) Harris, was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1902 in Postville, Iowa. He died Friday, April 12, 1996 at the Healthcare Center in Union City, Tenn. where he had been a resident the past six years. He was 93 years old.

He received his education at the Postville Public Schools and graduated in 1922. He was an outstanding basketball player.

Cyrus had been an employee of American Motors Corporation in Kenosha, Wis. having retired in 1966 after 43½ years of service. He had originally been employed by the former Nash Motor Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maude Welch; four brothers, Roy of Phoenix, Ariz., Dave of Thermopolis, Wyo., Dewey of Mason City, and Joe of Seattle, Wash, Survivors include a son, Cy Harris of Union City, Tenn., three granddaughters, Becky Brown of Houston, Texas, Cynthia Murphy of Wheaton, Illinois, and Donna Walker of Union City, Tenn., and six great-grandchildren, Ryan Brown of Houston, Texas, James Murphy at the U. S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., Micah Murphy, Amanda and Autumn Murphy, all of Wheaton, Ill., and Erica Walker of Union City, Tenn.

Funeral services were held at the Sunset Ridge memorial Chapel on Kenosha, Wisconsin Tuesday, April 16, 1996.
