Funeral services for Candy K. Bachtell Nemer were held Monday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson and the Rev. David R. Nelson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Candy K. Bachtell Nemer, daughter of Daryl and Dolly (Erickson) Bachtell, was born Aug. 10, 1957 at West Union, Iowa. She died April 1, 1982 at her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church on May 21, 1972.

Candy graduated from Postville Community Schools in 1975 and the Iowa School of Beauty Culture at Des Moines in 1976. She was employed by Younkers as a hair stylist for three years.

On November 3, 1978 she was married to Nicolas Nemer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. To this union a son was born.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.

Surviving are a son, Nathan, her parents, Daryl and Dolly Bachtell of Postville, two brothers: Tom of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Bob, at home; a sister, Mrs. Bradley (Becky) Sweeney of Truro, Iowa, and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Erickson of Eldorado, Iowa.
