Sister Claudia (Alice) Morgan

LA CROSSE - Requiem rites for Sister M. Claudia, F. S. P. A., were held Monday at 8 a. m. in St. Rose Convent chapel, with Father Ralph Meyer, a grand- nephew of the deceased , officiating.
Sister Claudia, 86, who gave 62 years of service as a music teacher in the Community of Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, died at St. Francis Hospital on Friday, August 30. She was in the 63rd year of religious profession.
She was born near New Albin, Iowa, in 1898, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Kelly Morgan.
After attending a rural school and then New Albin High School, she entered St. Rose Convent and received the garb of a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration in 1898,
Her assignments as a music teacher took her to Ashland, Superior, Odanah, Durand, Eau Claire, Athens, La Crosse, and Plum City in Wisconsin; and to Carroll, Herper, Mallard, Bellevue, West Point, Breda, and Lansing in Iowa. After her last year of teaching in Superior, Wis., she retired to Villa St. Joseph in the summer of 1962.
Two sisters and one brother survive her. They are Mrs. D. Kelley and Mrs. M. Donovan,
and Francis Morgan of New Albin, Iowa.
