Violet Palmlund
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Olivia, Minnesota Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Violet (George) Palmlund, who died at the Willmar Nursing Home Thursday, March 11, 1965, at the age of 59.
Death was due to cancer and she had been ill the past six months. She had recently submitted to treatment at University Hospital in Minneapolis.
Rev. Roy Harris officiated at the church service and burial was made at the Olivia cemetery, Olivia, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Edwin Erickson, Howard Mertz, Frank Svoboda, Albert Tinglof, Bergh Jacobson and W. M. Winter. Mrs. Delton Evermann sang at the service and Mrs. Roy Harris was organist.
Violet (Schave) Palmlund was born to John and Annie (Leitzring) Schave June 13, 1905 at Olivia, Minnesota. She attended the local public schools and St. Cloud Teachers. She took special courses at the Mankato State college and was the teacher of special education classes in Olivia. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Olivia Teachers association.
She was married to George Palmlund June 20, 1929 at Olivia, Minnesota. Her husband died Aug. 11, 1961. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. (Rose) Oscar Anderson, Vesta, and Miss Lulu Schave, Minneapolis, and two brothers, Harold and Ivan, both of Minneapolis.
Relatives and friends attending the services, included Mrs. Grace Lundt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold MacIntosh and Mrs. Howard Hanson, all of Decorah, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hanke and Dr. and Mrs. Dale Hanke, Brownsville; Kenneth Lundgren and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schave, Minneapolis.

Submitter note: Violet Schave Palmlund's father was John Fred Schave and he was the son of Henry and Minnie (Wedo) Schave. Henry Schave's parents are unknown but they came from Mecklenberg, Germany. Schave's live/lived in the Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Winneshiek areas.
