Died, at her home at Dorchester, on Tuesday, January 2, Mrs. Dan Long, after a short sickness of but a few days. Mrs. Long was a kind hearted woman and a good neighbor. She leaves beside her aged husband, two sons and two daughters, besides a large circle of friends. The funeral was held at 10 o’clock Thursday morning at the M.E. church, burial taking place in the English Bench cemetery. Rev. J.E. Johnston preached the funeral sermon.

Nancy (Duff) Long was born 19 May 1852, in Dubuque County, Iowa, and was the daughter of James & Mary Agnes (Robinson) Duff. She married Daniel Long in 1872.
