Mrs. James W. O’Donnell was born in Lycurgus, December 13, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Deeny, and died at her home Sunday evening, 1929 April 7, after an illness of about a year.
On January 9, 1906, she was married to James W. O’Donnell of Lycurgus and they have since resided at Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Leona, Rita, Helen and Dorothy, her father James Deeny of Monona, and four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Sullivan, Moscow, Idaho, Mrs. Grover Wilson, Minneapolis, Mrs. Harrison Toney, Monona, Mrs. Albert Long, Waukon, also by three brothers, Chas. F. of Lycurgus, and Hugh J. and Wm. J. of Waukon. She was preceded in death by her mother, and by her sister, Mrs. Anton Plein of Lycurgus.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a devout member of the Catholic church and also affiliated with the Yeoman order. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Lycurgus this morning. Rev. McNamara officiated at requiem mass. Internment was in cemetery adjoining the church.
