JAMES GEE
James Gee was born at Pymoor, Cambeshire, England, April 12, 1855. At the age of 35 he came to America in March, 1880. He was married to Celia Stauffacher Oct. 24, 1894. This union was blessed with one daughter. Mr. Gee lived on his farm near Lansing until the spring of 1927 when he came to this city to retire and make his home. He had been in poor health for about five years, and on Dec. 29th he entered St. Francis hospital, LaCrosse, for medical attention. Last Thursday morning an operation was performed and he seemed to be recovering as well as could be expected until Sunday when a change for the worse was noted, His family was notified and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Fritz, and Rev. Hoffman went to his bedside and remained with him until the end. He passed away peacefully to be with his Master at 6:00 a.m. Monday. Mr. Gee would have been 82 years old had he lived until April 12th.
As a young man who united with the Methodist church of Lansing, he was a faithful member and a devoted Christian husband and father, and lived an honorable and exemplary life in our midst. He was regular in attending the services of the German Presbyterian church for many years. .
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, one daughter; Mrs. Elizabeth Crane of Armington, Montana, (she could not attend the funeral because of sickness in their own family) and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hanna, who resides in England. I
Funeral services were held from the German Presbyterian church this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. C. H. Hoffman officiated and preached a comforting sermon on the subject, "The Christian Doctrine of Immortality." Burial took place in the Lansing Ridge cemetery
