Roland Nagel

Roland Verni Nagel, 60, of Waukon died Wednesday, April 16, 1997 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Private family services will be held later.

He was born July 8, 1936 to Edward and Aurelia (Stock) Nagel on their rural Waukon farm. Roland attended rural school in Ludlow Township and graduated from Waukon High School in 1954.

April 17, 1955 he married Mary Ferguson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Roland was a grocery manager for Quandahl's Food Ranch for 18 years. He also farmed and worked at Ludlow Dairy.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Ronald of Louisiana, and Jerry and wife Cheri of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Nancy and husband Mike Tangen of Chicago, IL., Susan and husband Anthony Stumbo, and Lori Nagel, all of Waukon; two brothers and their wives, Don and Connie and Jim and Mary, all of Waukon; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son John, and a sister Sylvia Bennington.
