Services for Albert Moose
Funeral services for Albert Moose were held Thursday, October 1, 1998, 11:00 a.m. at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, IA, Rev. Penny Hansel officiated. Organist was Mrs. Priscilla Miene. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Drahn, Charlie Fick, Bill Scherf Jr., Roger Palmer, Danny Kruse, Brad Freilinger, Willis Johanningmeier and Lawrence Krueger. Pallbearers were Glenn Hermeier, Mike Hermeier, Kevin Timmerman, Loren Timmerman, Tom Moses, Mark Ehrhardt, Dennis Rooney, Lyle Moose and Allen Wahls. Burial was in the Smithfield Cemetery, rural Luana, IA. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.
Albert Richard Moose, son of Gaylord James and Lois Elizabeth (Gilson) Moose, was born August 5, 1936 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, IA. He was baptized September 13, 1936 at the Volney Methodist Church, and also confirmed there. He attended the Suttle Creek School and graduated from Monona High School in 1955.
Albert was united in marriage to Marilyn Jean Timmerman on January 19, 1957 at the E.U.B. White Church. Albert was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Suttle Creek and Moose Hollow areas. His hobbies included woodcarving, deer hunting, toymaking, John Deere tractors and bell collecting.
Albert died Monday, September 28, 1998 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylord; his parents-in-law, Theodore and Pearl Timmerman, and a sister-in-law, Marie Timmerman.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; four sons, Leland, Richard and his wife, Debbie, James and his wife, Lesa, and Douglas and his wife, Kelly, all of Monona, IA; eight grandchildren, Donald, Jennifer, Terry, Bill, Amber, Kelby, Jarred and Jordan; his mother, Lois Moose of Waukon, IA; a sister, Dianne and her husband, Gary Hermeier, of Stoddard, WI, a brother-in-law, Milo Timmerman of Luana, IA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
