Carolyn Bunge

Carolyn M. Bunge, 66, of Eitzen, MN died Friday, June 13, 2008 at Tweeten Lutheran Health Care Center, Spring Grove, MN. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17 at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Kent A. Meyer, Ph.D. and Rev. Debra A. Meyer officiated. Burial will be in the St. Luke's U.C.C. North cemetery. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home of Caledonia, MN is in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn was born January 4, 1942 in Crooked Creek Township, Houston County, MN to Elmer and Melinda (Schuldt) Kohlmeier. She is a 1959 graduate of Caledonia High School and then attended Western Wisconsin Technical Institute in La Crosse, WI for two years.

July 29, 1961 Carolyn married Glenn Bunge at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Caledonia, MN. Together they farmed east of Eitzen, MN. In addition to farming, Carolyn enjoyed bowling, down hill skiing, biking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen and served as the first woman president of the church council.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn of Eitzen; two daughters, Theresa (Kenneth) Meyer of Cedar, MN and Beth (Terry) Fitzpatrick of Waukon; one son, Alan (Ann) Bunge of Woodland Park, CO; six grandchildren, Jessica Ryan, Austin Ryan, Dylan Meyer, Tanya Meyer, Tyler Bunge, and Zachary Bunge; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Fitzpatrick and Brandy Fitzpatrick; one sister, Lorrie Kohlmeier; three brothers, Orvis (Jan) Kohlmeier, Larry Kohlmeier, and John (Diane) Kohlmeier; and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
