THOMAS EDWARD VICKERY
Thomas Edward Vickery, son of John and Lydia Fish Vickery, was born October 29, 1903 near Rossville, Iowa.
He passed away July 15, 1965 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, following an illness of two years.
Thomas Vickery was married to Clara C. Waters on January 7, 1924 at Waukon.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Keith of Dubuque, Wayne of Waterloo and Staff Sergeant Leslie of the United States Air Force; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two brothers, Davis Vickery of Chenoa, Illinois and Ray Vickery of Waukon; two sisters, Mrs. Vernie Brainard of Joliet, Illinois and Mrs. Mary Meier of Rochester, Minnesota.
Thomas Vickery spent most of his life doing construction work in the vicinities of Harpers Ferry and Waukon. He settled on a farm near Postville in 1952 and moved to Postville in October, 1964.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Schutte Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charges of the rites. Burial was in the Rossville cemetery.
