Frank Emil Buege, son of the late William and Ulricka Buege, was born March 31, 1869, in Germany. At the age of five years he came with his parents to this country, settling in French Creek Township. In 1904 he was married to Elise Welper. They made their home on the Buege homestead for the first four years of their married life, later living on a farm in that vicinity, and in 1912 they moved to their present home where they lived until his death which occurred Monday, December 28, 1942, at 3:00 a.m. following a several week’s illness.
At this union one daughter, Mrs. Irene Welper was born. He is survived by his wife and daughter; three brothers, Herman and Ferdinand of Waukon; Emil of Lansing; four sisters, Mrs. Will Bublitz of Waukon; Mrs. Aaron Dawson of Lansing; Mrs. M. Aschbacher and Mrs. Frank Zezulka all of French Creek Township; and four grandsons, Everett, Delbert, Leslie and Virgil Welper.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church with the Reverend E.J. Florin pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the New Albin Cemetery.
