HERMAN FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY

The funeral of Charles August Herman was held Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8 at St. John Lutheran church with burial in Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. David Vaaler officiated and Martin funeral service was in charge.

Mr. Herman died Wednesday at the local hospital after being in poor health for a year.

He was a native of Makee Township, where he was born Oct. 27, 1886, son of August and Johanna Guth Herman. He was married May 6, 1924 to Marie Nelson who preceded him in death. The children are George and Carl of Waukon and Lorna, now Mrs. Ernest Fruechte, also of Waukon. There are two sisters and a brother remaining, Mrs. C.D. Babcock and Gus Herman of Waukon, and Mrs. P.W. Olson of West Salem, Wisconsin. There are seven grandchilden.
