Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, January 24 from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Lester F. Willman who died January 21 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.
Lester Fritz Willman, son of Rudolph Willman and his wife Amelia Reincke Willman was born July 24, 1909 in Post Township. He was baptized in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, November 7, 1909 and confirmed September 2, 1923 where he remained an active member.
On July 12, 1945 he was united in marriage to Christine Welker in Chicago, Illinois. Most of his life he was engaged in farming, retiring to Postville in 1970. He served for 3 1/2 years during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #518.
Preceding him in death were his mother, one brother, Harlan and a sister, Elsie Hangartner.
Surviving are his wife Christine; his father Rudolph; a brother Lorenz and a sister Lavila Schmidt, all of Postville; eight nieces, three nephews and other relatives.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery with military rites being conducted .
