Anna Wegner
Services were conducted Nov. 26 at the Schutte Funeral Home for Anna M. Wegner who passed away suddenly at her home Nov. 24 at the age of 83.
Miss Wegner was born on November 1, 1886 on the Wegner farm in Clayton County, the daughter of Carl and Christine Nise Wegner.
She was baptized in the Lutheran Church and confirmed in April, 1900 by Rev. Bockelman. She attended the Postville Grade School and a country school, known at the time as the Springfield School.
Miss Wegner worked as a saleslady for Luhman & Sanders for 15 years. She was also employed at the Postville State Bank from October 1919 to October 1944. She worked for 15 years as a saleslady in Minneapolis. During her lifetime she made many trips to California.
She moved back to Postville in March of 1959 to retire in the Schutte Building. Miss Wegner was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville, but attended Central Lutheran Church while living in Minneapolis.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clara Miller of Postville and Mrs. Marie Davis of California.
Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
