Services For Cynthia Haak Are Friday
Cynthia DeWitt Haak, 87, of Flora, IL died Monday, May 27 at the Clay county hospital in Flora.
She was born in Waterloo Aug. 25, 1897, a daughter of Carl and Mabel (Jones) DeWitt. May 2, 1925, she and August W. Haak were married in Marengo. Mrs. Haak was the owner of the Flora Greenhouse, for 31 years, was a Gold Star mother and was a member of the Flora American Legion auxiliary. She was a past member of BPW. She was also a member of First United Presbyterian church in Flora. At one time, she was a teacher in the Waukon area.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter Mrs. Cecil (Frances) Forsch of Casper, WY; two brothers, Carlton E. DeWitt of Berkeley, CA and Dwight DeWitt of Denver, CO, and two sisters, Marion DeWitt of Waukon and Mrs. Jenny Donahue of Burlington. She was predeceased by a son August Calvin.
Mrs. Haak will be buried in Oakland cemetery following funeral services Friday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at Martin's funeral home. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch will officiate.
Visitation is for one hour at 1 p.m. Friday.
