Funeral Services at St. Patrick's for Emma Haas

Funeral services for Emma V. Haas of Caledonia, Mn. were held Monday, Nov. 15 at St. Patrick' Catholic Church in Waukon.
She died Friday, Nov. 12 at the Caledonia Community Hospital at the age of 89.
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Roach officiated at the 10:30a.m. funeral and burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers were Francis Hammel, Vince Haas, Mark Mauss, Joe Denney, John Kerndt, and Ralph Grotegut.
Mrs. Haas was born Feb. 13, 1893 in Freeburg, Mn., the daughter of Valentine and Bertha Arndt Miller. She attended the Caledonia High School and the Teachers College in Minneapolis, Mn. and received her nurse's training at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Il. She and William L. Haas were married May 10, 1921 in Caledonia. She resided in Waukon until 1979 when she became a resident of the Caledonia nursing home. She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
She is survived by a son Ronald F. Haas of Bismarck, ND; a daughter Mary Jeanne McCarthy of Caledonia, and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, seven sisters, and two brothers.
Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
